Reallocate public funds from crypto to essential services

To: Sen. Middleton, Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Rep. Leo-Wilson

From: A verified voter in Galveston, TX

February 21

I strongly urge against using taxpayer funds to invest in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile and speculative, making them an unwise and irresponsible use of public money intended for the good of all citizens. Instead of gambling on risky digital assets, these funds should be allocated towards essential public services, infrastructure projects, education, healthcare, or other priorities that directly benefit our communities. Investing public dollars in unproven and unstable crypto assets is a dereliction of fiscal responsibility. I implore you to reconsider this ill-advised proposal and redirect any such funds towards more prudent expenditures that create tangible value for our constituents.
