The DOJ must comply with the law: release the Epstein files

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Thompson

From: A verified voter in Lewisburg, PA

January 13

The Epstein Files Transparency Act set a December 19, 2025 deadline for DOJ to publish the covered unclassified Epstein-related materials (with limited carve-outs like victim privacy and active investigations). So far, on;y a minuscule fraction of the documents have been released and without explanations for the redacted portions. If the Act lacks clear enforcement mechanisms (or DOJ argues ambiguity), Congress can amend it to add: explicit judicial review / expedited mandamus, automatic reporting triggers, penalties for missed deadlines, appropriations sequesters tied to compliance, or an independent review structure by default. Today would be a perfect day to push for the DOJ to comply with the law. I urge you to act on it.
