Don’t Let Casey Means Influencer Graft Kill Public Health

To: Sen. Collins, Rep. Pingree, Sen. King

From: A verified voter in Cumberland Center, ME

February 26

I am writing to urge you to oppose the nomination of Dr. Casey Means for Surgeon General. Her recent appearance before the Senate health committee confirms that she views this critical office not as a pillar of public science, but as a personal platform to expand her brand as a wellness influencer. While she holds a medical degree, her decision to abandon her surgical residency to pursue "metabolic health" branding raises serious questions about her commitment to evidence-based medicine. Her history of promoting unproven health trends and her refusal to support standard immunization protocols are disqualifying. We are witnessing a dangerous transition toward government-sanctioned medical "influencing" that prioritizes private profit and fringe rhetoric over the safety of the American public. After the chaotic appointment of RFK Jr., our public health infrastructure cannot afford further instability. Elevating a nominee who lacks specialty board certification and views public health through the lens of social media growth is a form of institutional corruption. I ask that you hold the line against this anti-science agenda and vote to reject Dr. Means. The health of our nation and the integrity of your office depend on it.
