Stop lethal boat strikes. Fund arrests, not killings

To: Sen. Ossoff, Sen. Warnock, Rep. Carter

From: A constituent in Pooler, GA

September 27

Operation Southern Spear has killed at least 234 people in boat strikes since September 2025. Zero have been charged with a crime. The DEA and Pentagon's own assessments say it hasn't reduced cocaine supply or purity. Meanwhile, a separate U.S. command working with partner nations is still boarding boats and making arrests the ordinary way — seizing drugs and getting a chance to question suspects, without killing anyone. That approach gets results and keeps people alive to answer questions, and it must stay within human rights law, not become an excuse for coercion or abuse. I want my representative to demand accountability and oppose funding for lethal strikes over arrests.
