As a Christian who votes my conscience over political party, I urge immediate action to end the crippling blockade on Gaza that has created an artificial crisis of food scarcity, leaving hundreds of thousands struggling with malnutrition and starvation, particularly the most vulnerable like babies and young children. The abundance of nearby agricultural resources remains inaccessible due to severe import/export restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities, constituting a grave violation of human rights and international law through the systematic deprivation of basic necessities for civilians. To prevent further unconscionable suffering, the illegal blockade must be lifted to allow unrestricted flow of food, medicine and essentials while facilitating access to abundant agricultural production in adjacent areas. Emergency humanitarian aid is also urgently required to provide relief to the people of Gaza facing acute hunger and malnourishment due to this man-made crisis.
