National public lands, including the Chuckwalla and Sáttítla Highlands National Monuments and all other national monuments, are precious natural and cultural treasures that belong to all Americans. They provide invaluable opportunities for recreation, scientific research, and connection with our nation's history and landscapes for current and future generations to enjoy. Eliminating or reducing protections for these lands would deprive us of their benefits and could lead to irreversible damage from commercial exploitation. As a constituent, I urge you to firmly oppose any efforts to revoke or diminish national monument designations in California or elsewhere. These public lands must be safeguarded for the greater good of our communities and environment.
