It is deeply concerning that the former president continues to make unsubstantiated claims about the legality of presidential pardons issued by his successor. These false allegations undermine respect for the rule of law and our democratic institutions. The Constitution grants the president broad pardon powers, and courts have consistently upheld the legitimacy of autopen signatures for this purpose by multiple administrations. Trump's repeated attacks on the integrity of the January 6th Committee and its members, who were duly investigating an unprecedented assault on the peaceful transfer of power, are reprehensible. We must unequivocally reject such efforts to erode accountability and enable abuse of power. It is imperative that all public officials uphold their oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Our nation's core values and the foundations of our republic are at stake. It is imperative that Congress stand up to Trump and remind him that members of Congress work for the American people and to defend the Constitution. They do not work for the President of the United States. Trump has overstepped his powers and responsibilities for too long. He does not have the right to go after his political rivals, he does not have the right to detain legal citizens for protesting or any other reasons, and he does not have the right to ignore the Constitutional rights of its citizens. It is time to hold Trump accountable and put a stop to the damage he has done to our country. He is out of line and it is your job to check his powers. Impeach Trump. Protect your constituents and the United States of America.
