Hello, I’m writing to express my horror over the detention of unaccompanied children. The administration’s recent policy changes (https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2025-09-02/ice-is-showing-up-to-interview-parents-hoping-to-reunite-with-their-children-who-entered-us-alone) have resulted in prolonged stays in federal custody, prevented reunification with loving caretakers, and forced children to attend court hearings without legal representation. Please work to end the detention of unaccompanied children, ensure safe, timely release to vetted sponsors, and protect meaningful access to full legal counsel.
