Oppose the SAVE Act, H.R. 22, Passed April 10, 2025
To: Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters
From: A constituent in Canton, MI
April 15
As a constituent from Canton, I urge you to firmly oppose the SAVE Act, a bill that if signed into law, will disenfranchise many married women, trans people, naturalized citizens, and many many others. As it has passed the House, thanks to four house Democrats, this is scarily coming close to becoming true. As you should know, this bill is not meant to ensure that voter fraud is kept at the sidelines, this is just an excuse, meant for Republicans to seize control over people who are slowly awakening to their cruel, selfish ambitions. Any Democrat who supports this should not be considered one and will surely be remembered with vicious notoriety. Many people in the US do not have a passport, and because of its price, cannot afford one. Married women are in a scramble to change back their names to match the one on their birth certificate. Many others do not have access to proper documentation needed to vote, should this bill pass. So that this does not happen, I am urging you with all of what little power I have, to vehemently oppose this, as this is a blatant infringement and violation of our first and nineteenth amendment rights. It is your job to ensure that we are accounted for - if not, you risk not having any constituents to represent and vote for you.
