Restore Leadership to America’s Public Health Agencies America’s public health infrastructure is in crisis — not from disease, but from deliberate neglect of the institutions designed to protect us from it. Right now: • The FDA has no confirmed director • The CDC has no confirmed director • The United States has no Surgeon General • The NIH is led by an economist with a public record of amplifying health misinformation These are not vacancies. They are choices. And those choices have consequences — for drug safety, disease surveillance, maternal health, pandemic preparedness, and the basic trust Americans place in the agencies meant to keep them alive. Science doesn’t pause for political appointments. Outbreaks don’t wait. Drug approvals don’t manage themselves. We need you to call on the Senate and the White House to immediately nominate and confirm qualified, credentialed public health leaders to the FDA, CDC, NIH, and Office of the Surgeon General — people whose qualifications are scientific, not ideological. Public health is not a partisan issue. It is a survival issue. We’re looking for any proof that Trump and the GOP understand what’s at stake — that science matters. Medicine matters. American lives matter.
