18 states have imposed restrictions on what SNAP recipients can buy with assistance. As a constituent, I oppose these restrictions proposed by the USDA and FNS. Not only are these not based on actual advice from nutritionists and dieticians, who advise AGAINST such bans, but this also imposed a burden on retailers, grocery stores, farmers, ranchers, and workers in the food industry. This also shuts out large number of recipients who likely use SNAP to supplement their scant incomes after bills are paid. It's elitist and other nations with less than stellar rights do bans like this. Please refuse the USDA's waiver.
