I’m a good old-fashioned normie Democrat who used to be a big supporter of yours, and I’m furious that you caved last night without getting the ONE thing we were asking for: an extension of the ACA subsidies. WHY would you settle for a vague promise from a party that has shown over and over that it DOES NOT operate in good faith and cannot be trusted? Did you not pay attention to NoKings? Did you not pay attention to last Tuesday’s election? I guarantee you that most Democrats wanted our party to hold the line.  We want you to FIGHT, NOT signal to a dictator that if he inflicts enough pain on us, we will cave. You’ve set a horrible, dangerous precedent. You still have a chance to redeem yourself: vote NO on the final bill. Or resign TODAY, so that Governor Pritzker can appoint someone who will fight for us to fill out your term.
