Kick Elon Musk Off His Federal Funding Gravy Train

I urge you to use your oversight and appropriations authority to ensure that federal funding does not reward companies whose owner wields extraordinary political influence while making decisions with serious consequences for national security and democratic accountability.
Recent reporting has raised troubling questions about Elon Musk’s role in restricting Starlink service used by Ukraine, despite the system’s importance to Ukrainian and U.S. military operations. If a private executive can unilaterally alter access to communications that have become strategically vital, the public deserves to know what authority, safeguards, and contingency plans exist. No individual should be able to exercise such consequential influence without meaningful oversight.
Please hold public hearings examining Musk-linked companies’ federal contracts, their role in critical government and military operations, and the risks created by reliance on privately controlled systems. Require relevant agencies to explain how contracts are awarded, what oversight applies, and how the government can maintain essential services if a contractor acts against the public interest. The hearings should also examine potential conflicts between political spending, government business, and decisions affecting public policy.
I ask you to support appropriations language that bars federal funds from going to Musk-linked companies when contracts lack adequate competition, transparency, and enforceable protections for the public. Any restriction should be carefully written, based on objective standards, and subject to appropriate legal review. At a minimum, taxpayers should not be required to subsidize companies that receive preferential treatment or whose essential services can be controlled by one politically powerful owner without reliable safeguards.
This is not about punishing a person for his political views. It is about protecting the public interest, ensuring fair use of taxpayer dollars, and preventing private wealth from becoming unchecked political power. Our republic depends on accountable institutions, not on decisions made by billionaires beyond effective public oversight.
Please make this issue a priority, demand answers from the agencies involved, and support hearings and responsible limits on federal spending. The government must protect democratic accountability and national security before allowing further dependence on any single private individual or company.
