Winning is not guaranteed

President Biden’s recent comment that “we’re going to win in 2022” is incredibly disappointing and tone deaf. In the last week we’ve heard: -Joe Manchin won’t support Build Back Better -The last child tax credit has been sent out -Nancy Pelosi doesn’t support banning members of Congress from stock trading -Kyrsten Sinema won’t support filibuster reform -Republicans continue their attack on elections And most disheartening of all: the White House has no plan for fulfilling Biden’s promise to cancel student debt and is even eager to restart payments next year. Biden’s comment is insulting. The Democrats are leaving their voters out to dry and particularly ignoring the young voters that helped give them control of the White House and Congress. If they expect people to show up and vote in 2022 with the same enthusiasm they had in 2020 I’m afraid they’ll be disappointed. Why would we vote for a party that does nothing for us and openly breaks promises to get our votes? We want change, not more of the same! We’ve seen zero punishment for those involved with the attack on our capitol and no focus on voting rights protection. I cannot express how wrong Biden is that “we will win in 2022”. The Democrats are guaranteeing that the Republicans will be rewarded for their attacks against democracy and we will witness the complete collapse of our secure and fair elections. It’s clear establishment democrats are not prepared (or willing) to fight back against the Republican’s coup that’s been in progress for years. If voting rights are not secured and assistance to student loans are not made a priority I will not be voting for anyone in 2022. No one will have deserved my vote and I refuse to vote just to keep the other side out. The Democrats have to wake up and start getting people excited about giving them their support, not simply expecting it.
