Open an investigation into Kash Patel's use of the FBI to produce partisan campaign content. The bureau recently posted a two-minute video on social media attacking Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed by name, alongside footage of Democratic politicians, while praising Patel's own leadership. That is not law enforcement. That is a campaign ad, paid for by taxpayers.
Federal law explicitly prohibits using government funds for campaign purposes, partisan messaging, and propaganda. This video almost certainly violates all three. And it doesn't stand alone — the Trump administration has already spent at least $5.6 million in taxpayer money on at least 15 campaign-style ads, including funds reportedly stolen from the Department of Homeland Security. Patel has also faced credible reporting that he's inflating arrest statistics by double-counting arrests made by other agencies. The pattern here is clear: this is an administration using federal institutions as political tools, and Congress needs to act as a check on that abuse.
