Don't Rename War Hero USS Doris Miller After Draft Dodger and Felon Trump

The keel-laying ceremony for CVN-81 is expected before the end of this year, and I'm asking you to block any effort to strip the USS Doris Miller name from that ship. Doris Miller manned an anti-aircraft gun under fire at Pearl Harbor with zero training, helped carry wounded sailors to safety, and earned the Navy Cross from Admiral Nimitz himself. That carrier was named for him in a ceremony at Pearl Harbor on Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2020 — by a Trump nominee. Renaming it now, for a sitting president, would be unprecedented in Navy history.
The Pentagon's pattern here is clear: the USNS Harvey Milk was renamed, Confederate base names were quietly preserved, and now the only aircraft carrier ever designated for an enlisted sailor — and the first for an African American — is being quietly erased. The Navy has already stopped using the name internally and is calling the ship CVN-81. That's not a coincidence. Congress must authorize any Medal of Honor for Miller, which gives you direct leverage. Use it. Tie that authorization to a firm requirement that CVN-81 carries the USS Doris Miller name to its keel-laying and beyond.
