As one of your constituents, I write to point out to you the open criminality of the current administration in Washington, DC. Regarding the unlawful deportation of Abrego Garcia and all the other men who have been sent to CECOT in El Salvador. Not only have these people been unlawfully deported, but the administration is openly defying the judicial system, which has ordered Mr. Garcia’s return to the United States.
I feel the need to point out to you that the Constitution is clear that we are all equal before the law. This administration doesn’t believe this. Trump believes that he is above the law and behaves as such. He thinks this because the Republican party has allowed him to act as if he has more rights than anyone else. He doesn’t. He has more power than anyone else, and that is because you have given it to him with your willingness to ignore his blatant, lawless behavior. After all, you are afraid of him. Your cowardice makes you complicit in the kidnapping of an innocent man/men and detention in a foreign prison.
To be clear, Trump is claiming the power to ignore the due process of the law, which is guaranteed by the Constitution, so he can declare people as criminals, kidnap them, and send them to a prison in a third-world country, and then claim he can’t get them back and now says the administration is under no obligation to follow the law. And your failure to speak out against this injustice proclaims you fully comply with this defiance of the Constitution.
Your cowardice is shocking. Your spinelessness makes you complicit in the dismantling of our justice system and the destruction of our Democracy. Until the Republican party starts representing all their constituents, not just MAGA, and faces their fear of the administration, this lawlessness will continue, and no American is safe.
