Demand Accountability: Congress Must Act on the Iran War Now

Congress needs to act immediately to assert its constitutional authority over the Iran War. Trump launched strikes on February 28 without congressional approval, has now exceeded the 60-day limit under the War Powers Act, and has never once consulted Congress as the Constitution requires. Seventeen Americans are dead. Four hundred twenty-seven are wounded. And the Pentagon under Pete Hegseth hid three of the last four attacks from the public entirely. This is not a gray area. Sean Parnell called the New York Times reporting on those hidden strikes "baseless and malicious" while claiming this is "the most transparent Department of War in history." That is a lie. The Pentagon hasn't held a major war briefing since early May. Meanwhile, Iranian forces are getting better at evading our air defenses, gas is over $4 a gallon, and U.S. crude supplies are at a 45-year low. Trump promised Iran "has lost everything almost, militarily" — yet the attacks keep coming and Americans keep dying. Demand a full congressional briefing. Force a War Powers vote. Use every tool available to claw back oversight of a war being run in secret. Constituents are watching to see who has the spine to stand up.
