Yet the Trump administration continued insisting the war was going well, that Iranian attacks were failing, and that American military superiority was absolute. These claims are lies. What makes this deception more troubling is how it was revealed: active service members, frustrated by "rigid media restrictions," leaked these images to reporters because, as on e soldier told CBS, "This is major damage to our bases that hasn't been communicated to the American public. We're standing there with our eyes closed getting punched in the face." Secretary Hegseth has systematically silenced the military. Press conferences are rare.
