Before this deal, the Trump administration had already approved preliminary applications for $1.6 billion in federal financing for the company. What demands investigation is the pattern that followed. Within weeks, investors affiliated with Dominari Securities—a Trump Tower firm partly owned by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump—took a 20 percent stake in the project. Simultaneously, Cantor Fitzgerald, controlled by Secretary Lutnick's family, helped raise $210 million for related entities, generating millions in fees. This arrangement is not isolated. Federal filings reveal that the Trump and Lutnick families have financial ties to at least 14 companies actively working with the federal government on critical mining deals. All 14 have either received federal financial assistance or have pending permit applications before the Commerce Department. The total federal funding provided or considered exceeds $8.9 billion.
