Vote NO on Bove for Third Circuit Court of Appeals

I am writing as your constituent to urge you to vote against the confirmation of Emil Bove to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Bove’s record raises serious concerns about his fitness, temperament, and commitment to the rule of law. Multiple credible reports and whistleblower complaints allege that, during his brief tenure at the Department of Justice, Mr. Bove targeted and dismissed DOJ attorneys and FBI agents involved in the prosecution of January 6th insurrectionists, apparently for political reasons rather than professional conduct; pressured New York officials by dropping a corruption case against Mayor Eric Adams in exchange for policy concessions, prompting the resignation of senior DOJ attorneys in protest; and suggested circumventing or even defying federal court orders regarding immigration enforcement, with a whistleblower testifying that he told colleagues to consider saying “f— you” to judges and proceed with deportations even if courts intervened. These actions demonstrate a disturbing disregard for judicial independence and equal justice, and suggest Mr. Bove is more loyal to political agendas than to the Constitution and the impartial administration of law. His refusal during his confirmation hearing to acknowledge the legitimacy of the 2020 election further undermines confidence in his commitment to democratic principles. Our federal courts must be staffed by individuals who are fair-minded, ethical, and committed to upholding the rights of all people. Confirming Mr. Bove would undermine public trust in the judiciary and threaten the integrity of our legal system. For these reasons, I respectfully urge you to vote NO on Emil Bove’s confirmation to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
