Protect Scientific Integrity: Move H.R. 1106 to a Vote

As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to support H.R. 1106, the Scientific Integrity Act, by taking steps to move it out of committee and bringing it to a floor vote. This bill would help ensure that federal agencies rely on independent science in decision-making and protect scientists from inappropriate political interference. H.R. 1106 would also require agencies to maintain scientific integrity policies and strengthen protections for the people who conduct and use federal science. This bill is especially important now because the proposed OMB rule would give senior political appointees a more direct role in grant decisions, while treating peer review as advisory rather than decisive.
