FBI Firings

ok I am writing to urge you to strongly oppose the current purging of the FBI under the direct direction of the President. As you know, Brian Driscoll, the FBI acting director, has ordered, at the behest of the White House, that the names of every agent in the entire country who worked in any capacity on the January 6 investigation be provided for review for potential personnel action. In other words, the President demands a purge of the FBI personnel because to be reminded that January 6 was a violent attack that he instigated to overturn a free and fair election is politically unpleasant to him. Potentially, thousands of agents are at risk. The men and women of the FBI are public servants dedicated to the rule of law. The people being targeted did their jobs and are now being fired. These people are being fired because they did their jobs, and the President doesn't like the cases brought against him due to their work. Allowing this to happen signals the end of independent law enforcement, a core value of who we are as a country. This is the end of the idea that Law enforcement pursues justice without regard to favors or preferences as dictated by the people or person in power, in this case, the President. Going forward, this allows the President to direct our country's premier law enforcement agency to direct or inhibit arrests, searches, prosecutions, and the overall rule of law to his benefit and his benefit alone. One man. One ruler. The nomination of Kash Patel, who has openly pledged his allegiance to the President, is further evidence of his intent to BE the rule of law. Patel will do whatever he is told to do. All of this is happening, and Republicans in the House and Senate do nothing. Why? They are scared of him. We, the American people, are scared too. Terrified. Partly because the President is dismantling our country and partly because the people we elected to stand up for us, make decisions in our best interest, obey the rule of law, and respect the Constitution aren't doing what they were elected to do. As our country crumbles and we watch this man take charge of the Justice Department for his political gain, we know you are watching, too. By allowing this to happen, the shame is yours. In the strongest possible terms, I ask that you stand up, speak up, and take a position against this attack. We are scared. The current leadership is terrifying the nation. You have the power to do something about it. This is your responsibility. You will be held responsible.
