Don’t you dare fall for it. The SAVE Act isn’t about protecting elections — it’s about rigging them.
Requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote is not a safeguard. It’s a deliberate, targeted, malicious attempt to silence the voices of the young, the poor, the marginalized, and the disproportionately non-white, non-Christian, and non-male voters who challenge the GOP’s crumbling grip on power.
Millions of eligible voters don’t have a passport or ready access to a birth certificate. You know this. So do the bill’s authors. That’s the point.
This bill is not about stopping noncitizen voting — which is already illegal and vanishingly rare. It’s about suppressing the votes of students who move frequently and don’t carry paper documents. It’s about elderly Americans born in rural hospitals who never had formal birth records. It’s about naturalized citizens who already navigated an exhausting, expensive process to become American and now face another manufactured obstacle.
And yes — it’s about race, and class, and power. This bill serves only one purpose: to help a white, male, Christian minority cling to control they no longer deserve. It’s anti-democratic. It’s unconstitutional. And it’s cowardly.
You took an oath to protect the Constitution — not cower before a party that’s scared of voters. I demand you stand up to this assault on democracy. Publicly condemn the SAVE Act. Vote against it. Shout from the rooftops if you have to.
History is watching — and so am I.
