Action Needed: Hold Plastic Industry Accountable for Deceptive Practices

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The Center for Climate Integrity's recent report reveals a concerning truth about the plastic industry's deceptive practices. For over three decades, they have known that recycling is neither economically nor technically feasible, yet they have continued to promote it, potentially violating public-nuisance, racketeering, and consumer-fraud protections. The industry's promotion of chemical recycling is another misleading solution to plastic waste. Given the industry's significant environmental impact and greenhouse gas emissions, it is crucial to hold these companies accountable. Therefore, it is requested to consider legislation limiting single-use plastics, which would directly address the plastic waste problem and reduce the industry's environmental footprint. This action is not only environmentally responsible but also a step towards ensuring corporate transparency and accountability.
