I'm calling on you to take immediate action to reverse the Treasury Department's decision to add President Trump's signature to U.S. paper currency. This breaks 160 years of tradition and turns our money into a personal vanity project.
Since 1861, only two signatures have appeared on our bills: the U.S. treasurer and the treasury secretary. There's no legitimate reason to add a third. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent claims this honors Trump's economic record, but voters are unhappy with the economy right now. Inflation is up, cost of living is high, and oil prices have risen since the Iran war started. This isn't the "Golden Age economic revival" Bessent describes.
This is part of a pattern. Trump already stamped his name on Covid stimulus checks, the Kennedy Center, the U.S. Institute of Peace, discount drug programs, and proposed warships. Now he's putting his signature on every dollar bill Americans use. Our currency shouldn't be a billboard for any president's ego.
Block this decision. Our money belongs to the American people, not to one man's brand.
