Demand Mitch McConnell's Resignation and Senate Incapacitation Rules

Mitch McConnell needs to resign, and the Senate needs enforceable rules to remove members who are cognitively incapacitated and refuse to step down. McConnell has frozen mid-sentence at press availabilities — twice — while staffers rushed him off camera. His family and staff then kept him hidden from public view for three months. That's not a temporary medical leave. That's a cover-up. The pattern isn't new or partisan. Dianne Feinstein served while similarly incapacitated. Kay Granger was living in a memory care facility while still holding a House seat. These aren't isolated cases — they're symptoms of a Senate with no mechanism to remove members who can no longer serve. The Senate has rules for almost everything except this. That needs to change. A standard modeled on the Twenty-Fifth Amendment's incapacitation provisions would give Congress the tool it currently lacks. McConnell's constituents in Kentucky deserve a senator who can actually represent them. Propping up an incapacitated officeholder to protect a party's seat count is a betrayal of the public trust. Push for his resignation and sponsor legislation creating a congressional incapacitation removal process.
