Vote NO on This Budget Bill – It’s a Disaster for Working People

This budget is a betrayal. It is not a compromise. It is not governance. It is a giveaway to the wealthy elite at the direct expense of the rest of us. You are currently in the middle of a filibuster over a budget bill that would slash social services, gut public programs, fund more cages and surveillance, and hand billions to the ultra-rich — all while we’re told to tighten our belts and “sacrifice.” But let’s be honest: working-class people have already sacrificed. We’re drowning in student debt, scraping by on wages that haven’t kept up with inflation, watching our schools crumble, our public transit fail, and our communities go without basic support. Meanwhile, this budget props up ICE detention centers and border militarization, while undermining healthcare, housing, environmental protections, and the basic social contract. It is immoral. It is unsustainable. And it is un-American. You are not powerless. You do not have to vote yes. Vote NO on this budget. Refuse to rubber-stamp cruelty. Refuse to sell us out. If your job is to represent the people, do that. Stand up. Say no. Be brave. We the People will remember who stood with us and who didn’t.
