An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Oppose the Ongoing Military Action Against Iran

11 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

I am writing to urge you to use every tool at your disposal to end the military action against Iran and prevent further escalation of this conflict. This war is costing the United States one billion dollars per day while lacking any coherent strategic justification. The White House has provided contradictory explanations, shifting from claims of an "imminent threat" to vague assertions about a 47-year conflict. Officials cannot articulate whether this action aims to achieve regime change, eliminate nuclear capabilities, stop proxy funding, or damage missile programs. War planning has been conducted in an insecure ballroom at Mar-a-Lago, while Russia provides targeting information to Iran and our Treasury Secretary relaxes sanctions on Russian oil. The human cost is devastating. Over 1,300 Iranians have been killed. Six American service members have died, along with casualties across the region: 11 in Israel, six in Kuwait, three in the UAE, one each in Bahrain and Oman. These are sons, daughters, parents, and siblings who were living normal lives before this decision was made. When asked about the initial three American deaths, the President told NBC News: "We have three, but we expect casualties, but in the end it's going to be a great deal for the world. And sadly, there will likely be more before it ends. That's the way it is." Americans at home are suffering too. Gas prices have increased fifty cents per gallon in one week, with diesel prices rising even more. Combined with existing tariffs, these increases are forcing small businesses, restaurants, and family-owned firms to close. General Lucian K. Truscott Jr., speaking at the American Cemetery in Nettuno, Italy on Memorial Day 1945, turned away from VIP visitors to address 20,000 graves directly. He apologized to the dead men for their presence and rejected the notion of "glorious dead." That understanding of war's true cost is absent from current leadership. I urge you to demand an immediate end to this military action and a full accounting of how this decision was made.
