Remove DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin for Coercing Election Officials

As your constituent, I urge you to call for the removal of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin. Secretary Mullin has substituted intimidation for evidence-based governance. He has threatened local election officials with criminal penalties and jail time for failing to comply with DHS directives on election systems and voter rolls. This is coercion, not election security. It chills legitimate state election administration and exceeds DHS's constitutional authority. Election administration is a state responsibility. Federal agencies may assist only where Congress has explicitly authorized it, provided adequate funding, and set enforceable limits. When DHS withholds federal aid while demanding specific voter-roll changes, it effectively federalizes an area Congress has not authorized. The stated goal—fraud prevention—does not justify the method: threatening officials with criminal exposure violates due process and the separation of powers. Secretary Mullin's threats rest on unsubstantiated claims. Reports document allegations of noncitizens on voter rolls but acknowledge no evidence that noncitizens actually voted. Yet the DHS messaging—threatening "up to five years in prison"—applies pressure regardless. This approach prioritizes intimidation over facts. Congress must act. I urge you to: 1) Demand that DHS comply with legal limits on its election authority. 2) Insist on concrete evidence and due process before any federal enforcement action. 3) Oppose rhetoric and policies that undermine electoral confidence without proof. 4) Ensure that CISA is fully funded to strengthen election infrastructure through support, not threats. 5) Ensure that FEC and EAC vacancies are filled so election oversight functions lawfully. Secretary Mullin has violated the bounds of his office. I urge you to support his removal and, if necessary, impeachment.
