Investigate and Stop Taxpayer-Funded Trump Propaganda Ads

You need to investigate and stop the White House from using federal funds to air campaign propaganda. On September 28, a black-and-white ad featuring Donald Trump reciting his 2024 campaign speech — word for word — ran during the Illinois at Ohio State game and on Fox News Sunday. The closing tag read "Paid for by the U.S. Government." That means my money. Your constituents' money.
This is the second such ad in a matter of days. The first set Trump's image to a song the artist says was used without permission. When CBS asked for an explanation, a White House spokesperson called these spots "educational and unapologetically patriotic." There is nothing educational about a man vowing to "cast out communists" and "rout the fake news media" five weeks before a midterm election. Federal law has banned using appropriated funds for publicity or propaganda for decades. The Hatch Act exists precisely for this scenario.
They put "Paid for by the U.S. Government" on screen in white letters. They're not hiding it — they're daring someone to act. That someone should be you. Demand an immediate investigation into who authorized these expenditures, refer the matter to the appropriate oversight body, and push for legislation that closes any gap allowing this to happen again.
