A new PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist poll indicates that two-thirds of Americans (from every political ideology) are against laws that limit transgender rights.
I read recently that within the Pennsylvania legislature, Republicans are attempting to join other states in attacking transgender children by limiting their involvement in sports. This is unfortunately a GOP tactic we’ve seen many times before, where they target a small marginalized population and attempt to make their lives miserable for political gain; it’s cruel and disgusting.
Transgender adults make up less than one percent of the US population and this is what we’re concerned about? There’s a worldwide pandemic going on and a vocal minority of Pennsylvania representatives want to focus on an extremely small number of kids who are already struggling with their identity and make their lives even more difficult. That’s child abuse.
I urge you to vote against any law that would have any negative impact on our transgender community. These are our fellow Americans and should be treated as such.
