It’s authoritarian, it’s deceptive, and it’s a horrible decision.
This kind of rhetoric sets a chilling precedent, one that brings to mind Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, where government control of information led to a society devoid of free thought and dissent. When those in power begin deciding which journalists can and cannot report on the administration, we are no longer operating under the principles of a free press—we are embracing propaganda.
History has shown that when governments manipulate the media, it is only a matter of time before truth itself becomes a casualty.
