Reject federal overreach into state elections, protect voter rights

The Trump administration's attempts to access sensitive voter data and election systems from states pose a serious threat to the integrity of our elections and our democracy. States have the constitutional authority to oversee elections, not the federal government. The Department of Justice requesting voter rolls, election records, and equipment access from Colorado, Arizona, and at least ten other states is a dangerous overreach of executive power that could enable voter suppression and interference. Studies show voter fraud is exceedingly rare, yet the administration seems intent on pushing the false narrative of widespread fraud to justify federal interventions. We cannot allow the 2020 lies about a "stolen election" to escalate into actual election subversion in 2024. The secrecy around creating a national citizenship database for voters is also alarming and could lead to eligible voters being wrongly disenfranchised. Our elections and the sacred right to vote are under attack. I demand that state leaders vigorously defend their authority over elections from this administration's repeated attempts at interference. We must protect the integrity of our democracy and the will of the people expressed through free and fair elections.
