I am writing to address an issue that not only your constituents but more than 100 top businessmen/women and CEOs have discussed openly with the President. His slash-and-burn policies are actively damaging a thriving economy. All major airlines have cut forecasts for first-quarter profits, and American Airlines projects a loss in the next quarter. Impending financial cuts and employee firings to the FHA in conjunction with an industry already stressed because Congress has not funded the appropriate upgrades and technological improvements in the past has caused negative impacts on the industry as a whole. And these are just the major airlines. Along with the country's business leaders, the American consumer is also nervous about the economy.
Musk and the President are lying to us. Very few Americans believe that we will be in a period of adjustment while his new policies are put into place. In the meantime, we, the consumer, are curtailing our spending. Why would anyone spend their money in a time of such uncertainty? Is this helping the economy? Are we supposed to sit back silently while we watch a delusional president wreck our financial lives?
Not one member of the GOP has the will, bravery, or stamina to go up against the President. People in red states complain about their leadership and failure to stand up and act.
Because the GOP has entirely abdicated their responsibility to the Constitution and their constituents, the President and Musk have effectively taken over the government. Putting sycophants and loyalists into positions of power ensures that the President will ‘get his way’ and continue his delusional rampage to the peril of the American people.
Do the American people want to take over Canada? No. The Panama Canal? No. Greenland? Do they want their Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid drastically cut or eliminated? No. The polling evidence shows that Musk and the President’s decisions are deeply unpopular. Why? Because people understand what the effects of these changes will have on their everyday lives.
As your constituent, I am imploring you to do something. Stand up. Speak out. Have town halls that allow your constituents to express their concerns and address those concerns openly, honestly, and with the conviction that you will take action.
We’re coming down to the wire. Something must give. Something must change. Our country is being dramatically changed not only here at home but the world over. The perception of us as the world leader is coming to an end, dramatically, shamefully, and publicly. Not standing up and speaking out makes you complicit in the active destruction of our country.
