Redistrict Now to Counter Republican Map Manipulation

Redraw our congressional maps. Republicans across Tennessee, Ohio, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, and more are aggressively redistricting right now, and every day without a Democratic response is a day they lock in structural advantages that will last a decade. What's happening in Tennessee is a blueprint for disenfranchisement. The Republican legislature cracked Memphis into three pieces and merged them with white suburbs, wiping out the majority-Black 9th Congressional District entirely. The Supreme Court's April 29 ruling in Louisiana v. Callais handed them the legal cover to do it, and they moved immediately. The NAACP has sued, but litigation alone won't fix maps that are already being drawn. California and Virginia have started redistricting in response, and that's the right move. Where Democrats have the power to act, they need to use it — fully and without apology. Voters deserve maps that reflect their communities, not ones engineered to silence them. Get it done.
