Defend Medicare and Medicaid from Cuts in the "One Big Beautiful Bill" Act

The proposed cuts to Medicare and Medicaid in the "One Big Beautiful Bill" Act are deeply alarming and threaten access to vital healthcare for millions of Americans. Nearly 72 million people rely on Medicaid for essential coverage, including low-income individuals, people with disabilities, and families with children. Stripping funding from this critical program will have devastating consequences, leaving vulnerable populations without access to necessary medical care and jeopardizing their health and wellbeing. Furthermore, the legislation's impact on the federal deficit could trigger automatic cuts of up to $500 billion to Medicare due to PAYGO rules. Medicare provides lifesaving coverage to over 55 million seniors, and cuts of this magnitude would significantly undermine the program's ability to meet their healthcare needs. Slashing funding for these programs to finance tax breaks for the wealthy is unconscionable and fails to prioritize the welfare of the American people. I urge you to adamantly oppose the draconian cuts to Medicaid and Medicare proposed in this fiscally irresponsible bill. Protecting and strengthening these vital safety nets must be a top priority. Our society is judged by how we treat the most vulnerable among us, and this legislation represents a catastrophic dereliction of that duty. Reject these unacceptable and immoral cuts that will cost American lives.
