Bills HB4944 and 49463 Have Passed the House! Request for discharge.

Bills HB4944 and HB4963 have passed the House with a vote of 76-29 very recently on 12/04/2024. http://letmichildhear.me I would like to ask of you to discharge these bills from the Senate Insurance & Finance Committee and bring it directly to the Senate floor for a vote. 28 other States have passed similar bills for insurance companies to at least cover hearing aids for children that choose a mode of communication of spoken and listening language and/or bilingualism. It is paramount that they have language access during critical stages of learning to better position them up for future opportunities. This bill also saves money for the State in the long run when we do not have to offer as much additional support in later stages of life due to lack of support in earlier stages of life. Time is of essence with the holidays coming up and ensuring this gets a vote on the Senate floor and not being delayed, thus, having to start over with the 103rd legislature in which may not be inclined to bring it to a vote. This started advocacy with it's first attempt via the Senate 10 years ago and various changes to House and/or Senate legislatures along with committee decisions have been causing us start our efforts all over again. This is because of continued unforeseen delays that pushes it into the next legislature and the next. Thank you for your time, consideration and all that you do for our communities!
