I am writing to express my grave concern regarding the passing through the House of The Save Act.
The Save Act requires anyone voting in the United States to produce a birth certificate with their name clearly stated. For obvious reasons, this is untenable for the women of this country.
Pure and simple, this is election fraud. Passing laws that strictly limit Americans' right to vote is unconstitutional. To tell Americans that this is being done because of widespread voter fraud is gaslighting at its finest. It is a straight up lie to the people of this country. Voter fraud is not widespread. It is rare, and the Republicans know this.
Republicans also know that they will never win elections unless they cheat. This is an example of that belief.
How are married women who do not or cannot afford a passport supposed to vote? Is it's ok to disenfranchise half of the American people by not allowing them to vote? Is it ok to demand that people spend money on a passport they will never use to exercise their constitutional right to vote? Why do Americans have to spend their time and money to ensure they are eligible to vote because of a ridiculous law passed by a Republican Congress? They want to be sure to win elections in the future.
This is unconstitutional. The Republican party will be held accountable for this miscarriage of justice. We demand that Republicans do not pass this in the Senate. We require that Congressional Democrats stand up and speak out against this.
Those Republicans who remain silent are complicit in the election fraud perpetuated by this law.
