An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Open the Gordie Howe International Bridge Now

260 so far! Help us get to 500 signers!

President Trump needs to open the Gordie Howe International Bridge immediately. The bridge is finished. Canada paid for the entire thing. The U.S. already owns half of it for free. There is no legitimate reason it should be sitting empty while American truckers wait in line at the Ambassador Bridge and auto industry supply chains absorb unnecessary delays. The reason it's still closed appears to be Matthew Moroun, the private owner of the competing Ambassador Bridge, who donated $1 million to a Trump fundraiser in January and met with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on February 9. Days later, Trump announced he'd block the bridge until Canada shows "fairness and respect." That is not trade policy. That is a $1 million favor to a billionaire at the expense of businesses across all 50 states. Please use every tool available to pressure the administration to open this bridge now.
