Investigate the Diversion of National Park Funds to Trump Vanity Projects

Demand an investigation into the Trump Administration's diversion of National Park Service funds to presidential vanity projects. Internal park service records show $423 million has been made available this year for the White House grounds and National Mall — a nearly 5,000 percent increase from the $20 million spent on those same sites in 2024. That $423 million is larger than the combined funding this year for Yellowstone, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Zion, Joshua Tree, and four other major parks.
This isn't just misplaced priorities — it's costing real places real money. Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon all saw multi-million dollar funding cuts. Emergency repairs at Death Valley and structural stabilizations at historic sites are sitting in limbo. The National Park Service has already lost nearly 2,000 employees since May 2025, gutting the workforce that makes these projects happen. Meanwhile, the rushed Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool renovation was so botched that the Justice Department itself called the work "botched" and "rushed" in a court filing.
Some of this money is flowing from opaque corporate donations — from companies with business before this administration. That's not deferred maintenance. That's a conflict of interest. Hold hearings, demand the full funding records, and stop the bleeding before a $30 billion maintenance backlog gets any worse.
