Block Planned Parenthood Defunding in the "One Big Beautiful Bill" Act

Planned Parenthood provides essential healthcare services to millions of Americans, including lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control, and STI testing. Defunding these clinics by blocking Medicaid reimbursements, as proposed in H.R. 1, would devastate access to primary care for over 2.5 million people, the majority being low-income individuals who already face barriers to healthcare. The Hyde Amendment already prohibits federal funds from covering abortion services. Cutting off Planned Parenthood actually increases costs, as every $1 spent on contraceptive services saves $5 in pregnancy-related costs. This provision serves no fiscal purpose and only aims to restrict basic healthcare rights.
