An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (N.C. only)

Say "No" to Free Ride for Data Centers in North Carolina

I’m writing as your constituent to ask for your support of House Bill 1063, the Ratepayer and Resource Protection Act. I believe this bill is an important step toward ensuring that large data centers pay their full share of electricity and resource costs, rather than shifting those costs onto ordinary North Carolina families and small businesses. As data centers continue to expand across our state, it is only fair that they bear the expenses created by their own operations. HB 1063 would help protect ratepayers, reduce unnecessary incentives, and promote more responsible growth. That kind of accountability is good for consumers, good for fairness, and good for North Carolina’s long-term energy planning. I respectfully urge you to support this legislation and stand with residents who should not be forced to subsidize large industrial users. Thank you for your service and for considering my concerns.
