Restore TPS and Stop Targeting Springfield's Haitian Community

Restore Temporary Protected Status for Haitian nationals and stop the targeting of Springfield's Haitian community. The Trump administration's decision to end TPS has stripped people of their driver's licenses and work permits, then ordered them to drive 70 miles to an ICE office in Blue Ash — a trip many can't legally make — where they leave fitted with ankle monitors and restricted from traveling more than 75 miles from home. These are people who have lived and worked here for five or more years. They've done nothing wrong.
The human cost is real. Viles Dorsainvil of the Haitian Support Center in Springfield described a man so terrified after his check-in that he ended up in an emergency room the next day. Pastor Carl Ruby, who has served communion to immigrants before they enter the ICE office, warns that young women who grew up attending Springfield City Schools face kidnapping and sexual violence if deported to Haiti. This is what your silence enables. Restore TPS, halt these check-ins, and fight for due process for Springfield's Haitian community.
