Stop Trump's Lawlessness

I am one of your constituents, and I am writing to beg you to oppose the President and his illegal activities. We now have a president who openly violates the court's orders. Trump is now deporting people HE (and his hateful sidekick Stephen Miller) deems to be criminals or gang members without due process. He’s deporting these people to a country they are not from and is paying that country to take these people into their prison system. So, now our tax dollars are being used to deport people illegally? He’s claiming the 1798 Alien Enemies Act as justification for his illegal and inhumane actions. The Alien Enemies Act specifies that the country needs to be at war or is about to be invaded before the Act can be implemented. Does this matter to Trump? No, and why would it? He defies the law anytime it suits his needs and gets away with it. He has done this repeatedly. Why? Because the GOP refuses to stand up to him and hold him accountable for his openly illegal behavior. To make matters worse, the country that has agreed to take these men has openly mocked our justice system, and this is ok with Trump. This cannot continue. We cannot have a president and his staff openly flout the rule of law, defy legal orders and judgments, and get away with it. This weekend, he has begun to call for the prosecution of those he determines openly are his enemies. This is not how this country functions. This is not legal. Why is the Republican Party letting him get away with this egregious behavior? Probably because it’s better to fight with the Democrats over this than address the issues of groceries and everyday expenses that every American must contend with, which he promised to bring down and has done nothing about. Trump’s erosion of the rule of law is on full display and ramping up. If the rule of law is ignored, it will be the end of our democracy, and our elected officials are doing nothing. Republicans and Democratic legislators doing nothing makes them complicit in the dismantling of our democracy. The damage being done is a direct result of their cowardice. Failure to act accordingly to a man intent on bringing down our country for his own narcissistic needs is criminal, and our representatives are directly responsible.
