Prevent US Involvement in the Israel-Iran Conflict

Escalating military tensions between Israel and Iran are deeply concerning, with both sides launching attacks and the conflict showing no signs of de-escalating. While the U.S. has a strategic partnership with Israel, blindly supporting further military action without Congressional approval risks embroiling us in another catastrophic and endless war in the Middle East. We must learn from the mistakes of the 2003 Iraq invasion which was launched on dubious premises of weapons of mass destruction and regime change objectives. It is critical that Congress reasserts its constitutional authority over the use of military force and prevents unilateral executive action that could thrust the U.S. into this conflict. I urge you to co-sponsor and vote for the bipartisan war powers resolutions [S.J.Res. 59 in the Senate / H.Con.Res. 38 in the House] which would require the president to obtain proper Congressional authorization before taking offensive military action against Iran. The American people have no appetite for another perpetual Middle Eastern war based on questionable intelligence. Congress must serve as a check on the administration and uphold its war powers responsibilities as enshrined in the Constitution.
