An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Oppose Trump's Vanity Arch and Demand a Congressional Review

20 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Oppose the funding and construction of Trump's vanity arch and conduct a full congressional review of the project under the Commemorative Works Act. When asked who this monument is for, Trump answered: "Me." That's all you need to know. A 250-foot arch — the tallest in the world — does not belong between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. The arch would sever the historic sightline to Arlington House, a view deliberately designed to symbolize national unity after the Civil War. It's an insult to the 400,000 service members buried at Arlington. The Commission of Fine Arts, stacked with Trump's own appointees, received roughly 1,000 public comments and found zero support for the project. The public comment period with the National Park Service closed July 30. Block the funding. Demand the congressional review. This project has no public mandate, no historic justification, and no purpose beyond one man's ego.
