Vote no on Todd Blanche's attorney general nomination. Buried in his settlement agreement is a provision granting Trump immunity from IRS audits — a giveaway worth up to $100 million, flowing directly from Trump in his official capacity to himself personally. That is not a technicality. That is corruption written into a legal document.
Sen. Cornyn has asked for something minimal: that the DOJ put in writing what Blanche already testified under oath — that the immunity covers only Trump, his two sons, the Trump Organization, and only past audits. The White House refused even that. If the administration won't commit to its own sworn testimony on paper, it's because they plan to expand that immunity later. Confirming Blanche under these conditions means confirming that self-dealing is acceptable in the nation's top law enforcement office. It is not. Kill this deal or vote no.
