I am calling to ask your member of Congress to support this resolution as quickly and urgently as possible.” “Trump’s use of the Emergency Resolution is an unjust power grab. This has nothing to do with safety in DC or the country as a whole. DC’s residents and elected leaders have not asked for this — and it’s dangerous for them.” “DC’s safety improves most when DC’s elected leaders have the most power. Crime is at a 30-year low, and violent crime is down 26% since last year.” “Trump is attempting a hostile takeover of the U.S. capital. He believes that if he can spread lies about our communities, he can get away with anything.
