I am very upset about Secretary RFK Jr.’s firing the entire CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and replacing them with people whose qualifications are in question. You probably know that the AMA has called for a Senate probe into these firings. Appointing figures like Dr. Robert Malone and Vicky Pebsworth, who have spread unfounded claims about COVID-19 vaccines causing AIDS and hypnotizing Americans, represents a dangerous embrace of pseudoscience over evidence-based medicine. The ACIP must remain impartial and reflect the work of experts. And Kennedy told Sen. Cassidy of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions that he would “maintain the [ACIP] without changes.”  Congress must take decisive action to remove Secretary Kennedy and his unqualified panel members.
